Getting to school safely

Did you know that most students in NSW travel to school by car even though they live less than two kilometres from their school? Are you one of them? If so, think about switching it up. There are to cycling, or using public transport as alternatives.

Enabling students to travel to and from  is our priority. As a parent or carer, you are responsible for how your child gets to and from school. Plan ahead by discussing the following with your children:

  • safe travel routes
  • how to share the road safely
  • alternative arrangements for when unexpected things happen.

Bicycle / Scooter / Skateboard

Trở nên dễ thươngStudents are encouraged to take care when riding bikes, scooters or to and from school, especially along the main roads.

Parents have a special role in relation to bicycle safety. It is vital that parents make sure that the bicycles their children ride are road worthy and that the children are provided with approved . 

Students must not ride their bikes, scooters or skateboards on school grounds and need to lock their bikes and scooters in the racks provided if they wish to ride to school.

Cars

Please remember that there is no parking available on school grounds and clearway conditions are applicable from 3pm.

Public Transport

It is very important that the school's good reputation is maintained and that, at all times, Cammeraygal students travelling on public transport should display proper conduct in the interest of and the comfort of other travellers.

Trở nên dễ thươngThe School Student Transport Scheme (SSTS) gives eligible students free or subsidised travel between home and school on the approved train, bus or ferry services. Transport for NSW issues School Opal cards to students elegible for travel under the scheme via an online application process. 

Subsidised school travel

 provides subsidies to assist school students.
